Scout Camp
Harlo! Sorry I did not update my blog! Well, i had a scout camp last weekend, means from 14 to 15 April. I know it is kinda late to talk about it. But never mind. It will be interesting.
Well, our camp was suppose to start at 10am, according to the letter that was given to us by our teachers. But on friday, 13th April, when the sky was dark and I was busy packing my stuff for my camp, my friend smsed me to tell me that it was actually at 9am. Ohh man! I thought 10am, so good lah, can sleep until 9am. But then, this excitement or rather, happiness was smashed when my friend smsed me to tell me that the camp started at 9am.
Ok, so the next day came and the first day of camp started. We had a nice start actually. At 9am, when a lot of people still weren't at school, we started playing cards :D It was really fun and a nice way to start off the day don't you think? Then 10am soon came, and we received some scout 'teachings' from two volunteers, one of which i am sure that he is a parent of a student in our school. The other, I am super not sure. Anyway, after that, we had our flag-raising ceremony. We said the scout promise, sang the scout hymn, etc. It really felt like a really formal, elaborate and of utmost importance ceremony then. After that, we played a game. Everybody should be familiar with this, treasure hunt. My group could not or answered a few questions wrongly, so we had to go back to the place where the answer is and memorise it. The second time we went to answer the questions, we got through!
After that, we had a morning tea. But this morning tea wasn't that relaxing after all. We had to eat oranges... and we had to take out all the orange from inside, because we just cut the top of the orange. Why didn't we just peel the whole orange skin out? Because we wanted to use this orange to cook a little cake at night, by putting the uncooked cake fluid into the orange and letting it cook. Well, I had some difficulty getting all the orange out, but well, I got through it. I got some help from my friends though :D
After our short but fulfilling break was over, we had to pitch up our tents. Well, we need to sleep somewhere at night don't we? We set it up, and then we learnt how to make a fire with wood. But we cheated a bit :D Didn't really do it the traditional way. After that, we had to make a sedan chair. We got a chair and we had to tie two poles onto the chair. That way, you can carry the chair. So we did that, and we kinda risked our life to let our friends carry us up into the air, praying to God that we will not fall. I know we are noble... trusting our friends, entrusting our life with them. Anyway, after that, we had lunch! We are gluttons aren't we! >.< Well, lunch didn't just come... we had to cook it with bunsen burners. Maggie noodles! hahahahahahahaha... nice lunch don't you think? I took the one with vegetarian soup... because the rest I don't eat... either spicy or whatever lah. Cook cook cook... eat eat eat... then we got to get back into business.
Well, for what happened for the rest of the day........................................................ I'll keep it to tomorrow! I will update tomorrow! So remember to come and read! See ya! ^_^

A trip to MINDS
Today, I went to MINDS. One of my group members did not come, so my group was left with 3 people for today. We played a game called 'Parachute' with the clients. However, not all the clients were able to play this game. Thus, only a few members played with us the game. We tried to keep the two balls on a cloth. You know... the cloth that we use to play the game where we run under the cloth to go another spot around the outside of the cloth. The balls just kept flying out of the cloth. One client enjoyed retrieving the balls. But, she liked to hold onto the balls and refused to give it to us the first few times when we needed to retrieve the ball. After a few times, we asked her to throw the ball. Then she will throw the ball and then we have to go retrieve it because she could not throw it onto the cloth. It was quite funny. After that, we made the clients in our group to sit in a circle together and we gave the clients two balls. We asked them to pass and throw the balls around. We guided them along to throw and pass the ball. One of my group members, Ben, held a client's hand and aimed the ball at my other group member, Bryan. It was a very enjoyable time. Though the time with the clients were short, I believe in quality, not quantity. I look forward to seeing them the following week.

Day at school... once again
Monday... Blue Monday... back to school... I had English, Maths, Chinese and Science lessons today! After which, I had yearbook. Nothing much really happened in school today. I have nothing to say! Tomorrow I will have more to type. After all, tomorrow I have social service. Well, just to give you an introduction on my social service. I am doing social service weekly at MINDS (Clementi), Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore. The clients there range in ages, but they have a mind of a child. We are fortunate to be normal people, to be able to understand what is around us and what is going around the world. For them, they have to be specially trained to know how to take care of their daily routines, such as brushing their teeth, bathing, etc. It takes time, effort, patience and determination to be able to train the clients. And I really admire the staff at the various MINDS centre. They really put their heart, their soul into taking care of the clients. I have done so little compared to them. But a little counts, as long as it comes from the heart. Tomorrow I'm going there, and I am going to play a game with them, along with my group members. I hope that they will enjoy it. Lastly, I look forward to tomorrow's social service.

Revival of my blog!
Hello everybody! Ok, one more attempt to revive my blog once again. Now, I am in SJI International. I have joined Scouts and just went for my 1 star Kayaking course. And, on the last weekend of april, I will be going to Bintan for 3 day 2 night stay... to of course, experience something that is part and parcel of scouts. School has been great for me so far. The teachers at my school are nice and friendly. Fellow students are also very friendly. Really nice people we have in SJI International. Anyway, I will try my best to post on my blog everyday. For now, this shall be all! Bye!
